Exhibition "Through my Eyes - Soul of Pakistan" and invitation to vernissage

Pak-German Council for Culture and Democracy cordially invites you to the vernissage of the exhibition "Through my Eyes - Soul of Pakistan" on October 11 from 7:00 pm at Kunstklinikum. The exhibition will show pictures of the Pakistani photographer Hameed Moinuddin which he all shot in Karachi. Berlin based author and photographer Maria Dost has written poetic texts for his pictures. In her texts she expresses her feelings and thoughts when looking at the pictures and in this way a dialogue Berlin - Karachi is created.

Both artists will attend the vernissage and are looking forward to answer all the questions from the audience in order to start a dialogue. Hameed Moinuddin will be travelling from Pakistan especially for the exhibition.

  stay with me
just for the time
sharing a smile

hold me
just for a moment
speaking a word

hold me
just for the trice
of memory

sticking on your eyes
holding your hands
being aware
of your being...

stay
with me.....

listen to me - imaginary letter

Can't you see it?
Can't you feel it?
Where is your voice?
Where are you?

Last night I went home to a place, you don't know. It is hidden by the noise. You
can't find me, while I am sleeping. At night I walk into my dream. Yes I have a
dream. I need to rest at night of all the seen during the day. I need to rest of all the
heard, of all the ignorance I met on my walks.

Can't you hear me?

I met today
5 men
one hanged himself
one got shot by accident
one got hit by a car
one just died in silence

and one left without saying good bye
he went on a ship of his dreams
to take him away
from here....

Can't you see me?

I am here. I am you. I am us.
Tomorrow I will leave.
I don't know the direction
I can't see the path to follow.

until someone says
stop
I will need you here....
