Meeting with German Parliamentarian
On 24th January 2008 a delegation of Pak-German Council for Culture and Democracy (DPG) met with Mrs. Christel Riemann-Hanewinckel who is member of German Parliament since 1990, current member of Parliamentary Committee for Human Rights and member of Parliamentary Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development. It is to notice that Mrs. Riemann-Hanewinckel was member of the delegation which was supposed to visit Pakistan in December 2007, the trip was cancelled in protest against the State of Emergency in Pakistan.
The DPG delegation had a very constructive talk with Mrs. Riemann-Hanewinckel. She assured the DPG delegation that she together with other German Parliamentarians will keep on supporting Democracy and Human Rights in Pakistan. She also assured the DPG delegation that members of German Parliament from different political parties will soon issue an open letter to President Musharraf in which following demands will be made:

Members of the delegation were Shahid Riaz (president of DPG), Canan Korucu, Constanze R. Ewald and Zafar Abbas (vice president of DPG).
